Great drinks? Check. Great food? Check. Great views of Lake Austin? Check. Mozart’s Coffee Roasters has everything you’d want out of a coffee shop. Even live music. First-time patrons quickly become regulars because of Mozart’s fun atmosphere.
Mozart’s, which opened in 1993 and located at 3825 Lake Austin Blvd., overlooks Lake Austin and offers views of the Texas Hill Country. Patrons can either sit inside or at picnic tables on the outside patio, where local musicians like Carl Koonce and Mark Gibson play weekly from Thursday through Sunday. John Wilson also plays live Christian music every Monday night.
For coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers, Mozart’s menu includes a wide range of drinks. Mozart’s prides itself in roasting its nine different blends of coffee on site. Traditional coffee drinks like lattes, espressos and cappuccinos are also available. The Mocha Special is the most popular drink, said barista Nayeli Garcia. Fruit smoothies, Italian soda and teas grace the menu for those who aren’t in the mood for coffee.
Unlike other coffee shops that I’ve been to, Mozart’s has tons of baked good options. This coffee shop doesn’t stop at the basics, and all baked goods are made in-house. Mozart’s is known for its exquisite cheesecakes, fruit tarts, cupcakes, canolis and chocolate-covered strawberries. The strawberry cheesecake is the most ordered dessert, Garcia said. Mozart’s also offers Amy’s Ice Cream.
Locals have picked up on all Mozart’s has to offer, making this coffee shop one of the most successful in the Austin-area.
